I just installed the full body bodyguardz on my G1.
It's a little complicated and you need lots of patience.
The think I liked most it that now the back cover is glossy. :D

About 30 minutes.
I've done an iPhone and a LG Vu before and besides I install window tint for living ;)

Because the material is somehow elastic, it's really hard to keep the straight lines straight...

SO that means it will take the average Joe about 3.5 hours? Haha. I should get my ZAGG full body Friday if not i guess Monday. (Was shipped yesterday)

One thing I didn't like about the Bodyguardz was the installation solution included. It wasn't slippery enough to reposition the skin so I added 1 (just one) drop of liquid soap.

Does it cover the screen as well? I couldnt tell from the pics.

I got the Zagg, only screen protector...

I think it's funny that this "fully body cover" really does cover the full body... EXCEPT parts of the corners... the part of the phone most susceptible to nicks/dings...

If it was somehow seamless, I'd be all for a full-body cover... But until then, just a screen for me.

That's the problem with a curved phone... there is no way to make the skin stick to the corners so that's why it's like that...

Very nice, might be a stupid question but does anybody know if when you take it off it peels any paint off?

LGSilva
10-22-2008, 10:22 PM
It does not and no glue behind either.

Wow. I'm amazed at how good that looks. Thanks for that post. Damn our color (bronze) is sharp. So glad I went that route.

Yes, I had invisibleShield on my iPhone and it had an orange peel texture.
I didn't like it very much because it increased the drag on the screen a little bit...

how does the screen look when its on? mine kinda looks like crap with the bodyguardz on, maybe did it wrong tho lol

Ah yes, NEVER again. I had this on my iPhone and in 3 months of normal use, you can actually see dirt and dust accumulate on the sides of the shield - No thanks.
Looks good though :)

does it affect the responsiveness of the screen?

MotorbikerChris
10-22-2008, 11:39 PM
no, the screen is just as responsive as without the screen cover

Mine looks good and you barely can notice the protector.

Yeah, mine looks fine now, I didn't give it enough time for the solution to dry completely, so the moisture was making the screen look kind of hazy.

That's the problem with a curved phone... there is no way to make the skin stick to the corners so that's why it's like that...

Manufacturers could easily offer a spray on or somehow low heat applied solution option to the phone as a purchased accessory... I would have gone for it.

There are some materials that shrink when exposed to heat, but I think that would be a dangerous combination: expensive electronics + heat

I agree. I really happen to like the "soft touch" finish on the G1, and would not prefer the feel of plastic.

Hey, but it does look good. The OP did a great job!

I have full bodyguardz also but I miss the soft touch feeling I had with G1 for first 1day and a half. I might take the bodyguardz off when it gets ugly.
I had it on for my bb curve and after a while, it catches dusts and stuff, so I took it off. Obviously, I got a lot of scratches since then, oh well.. I'll think about it.
by the way when you take it off, that is a funny feeling. it's kinda fun taking it off. install it is like so much pain but uninstalling is really fun. and you can't notice a thing, it's like, it's going back to a new phone just like when you bought it.

My BodyGuardz are great. The first day and a half that it's on the phone, you become worried about the bubbles. After that, the bubbles all seem to dry up and disappear. Best investment so far.

Looks like you dipped it in chocolate makes the phone look silly and fatter.

Does any one have pictures of silly skins like with designs on them? lol

I put the invisibleshield on, but didn't like it. Too goofy-looking for my tastes. I took it off, and just kept the screen protector on. Most expensive screen protector ever! :D

I ordered and installed mine...didn't like it, took it off quickly. I guess I want something a lil thinner. I still have the screen protector and the back part on(which may be taken off too soon).

I personally love my BestSkinsEver (http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f46/bestskinsever-g1-skin-installed-8391/) skin. Cheap and great quality and fit!
