Podcasts, what the big deal?

Ok so I've never been a podcast type of person. I know they are popular for some reason. I decided to check out a few podcasts and i must say, I'm truly disappointed. What's so good about them? It's like bad radio, I might give it another try but I doubt it. What you guys think? What makes a podcast good? I don't get it.

it makes sense if u commute for a long time. some music ones r good like the techno and hip-hop stuff. Ur dj makes a weekly mix. its ok. nothing special

sure isnt, its a waste if u ask me. i prefer good radio lol. i commute often, sometimes about 200 miles a day and i still dont see myself listening to a podcast while i do it.

Ur b surprised of how funny some could b. Engadget cast is great. n if is something on Ur interest. pfftt. I remember Phandroid had cyan once

Podcasts are a different way of getting news, but you don't have to listen to the stuff that doesn't interest you. They are good if you can find some about things you like- be it cars, hi-def TV, computers, swimming, video games, etc.

There are a lot of both good and bad podcasts- but I find a majority of the later.

Some of the better podcasts are entertaining and educational at the same time- so if you like to learn, they are a great combo.

I listen to most of the TWiT network podcasts as I like to hear about new computer stuff and gadgets. The Engadget and GDGT podcasts are also pretty good for the same matters. On another face, I find Hardcore History (by Dan Carlin) and several of the NPR podcasts are very entertaining.

In fact Just the other day he recommended a few to me, I just haven't had time to listen to any yet.

I'm a big fan of science, my favorite podcasts are The Naked Scientist, Stuff You Should Know, Brain Stuff, most of the how stuff works stuff actually. I'm listening to This Week in Google lately too, not sure if I like it though. Podcasts are a fun way to learn and keep current and some news for me.

this week in google is just 'ok.' honestly, they don't know all that much about android. personally, i like this week in tech better, and the new tech news today show is good.
