I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my phone today but need to take a cross country trip this weekend. Anyone know of a retailer of a car charger for the G1? Will all HTC compatible charges work? Thanks in advance for the info

pretty much any of them... It's just a standard mini-usb connection. Same that is used for most motorola phones, other HTC phones, etc... Anything with a mini-usb connection will work just fine.

I have a company Blackberry Curve, and I read that the car charger for that would also work for the G1. Yay! Called my local T-MOBILE and he said they had about 50 of them, 30 black and 20 bronze to go on sale tomorrow morning!

Omg if I have to post this one more time than I will, Not all chargers put out the same power If you dont use one that has the same specs as the g1 charger you will mess up your battery and possibly your phone, just cauze it fits dosent mean it is ok to use. there is already a thread about this.

My blackberry pearl charger doesn't fit, which sucks now i have to go buy another car charger and data cable to keep at work to charge it.

yeah the chargers are not all the same.

i've read that the moto razr charger puts out .5 amp, the curve charger puts out .75, and the g1 requires 1 amp.

USB specs put voltage at 4.75-5.25VDC, if it's standard USB voltage, you're prolly alright. I suppose it's possible to have a problem with current, however not very likely....if the charger doesn't supply enough current...say .25A instead of 1A, you'll likely just blow a fuse.

I tracked down a cigarette lighter adapter w/ USB connector for $6 and so far it works great.

i use the wing car charger since i first bought my phone. works well, no complains as of yet...i dont see the purpose of coming out with a G1 car charger when the wing has the same exact port

T-mobile sent me a OEM HTC MDA car charger when I ordered it with my G1 directly over the phone. any mini usb car charger for an HTC phone should work-- MDA, Wing, 8125, 8525, Tilt

I tried Motorola charger car and AC and they never charged my old MDA or G1
