Hello all,
I love to tinker, which is why I got an Android phone.
I have a G1 with an extended battery (2600mAh) and door. any of you that also have this know two things:
- The battery life is friggin awesome
- Theres a ton of wasted space between the phone and the door probably a little less than a cm in depth x~3.5cmx~4cm.
I've been dreaming of ways to utilize this space:
- credit card (can't risk messing with the magnetic strip, won't fit anyway)
- Key holder (might work for a very small key)
- a mini Bluetooth speaker to give the standard speakers more punch (not possible)
- some kind of unfoldable kickstand so I can view my G1 on a desk in landscape mode without holding it
- OR.... as I thought of tonight what if I made some kind of little heat spreader for it? copper heat sink!? f*ckin, heat tubes with a mesh exhaust on the bottom!?!?!?
these are just ideas for now, but I will have some free time to try out little projects like these this summer.... and I have an extra broken door to play with...
I've been hesitant to overclock consistently cause heat + Components = :(
but if I could cool down the CPU legitimately it might be a little safer.
thoughts? on a scale from 1 to 10, how bat-shiit crazy an idea is this? the bottom of my handset seems to get hot, but where is the CPU in the G1 located? will putting copper (or poss. aluminum) mess up call reception or the wifi radio?
