hey guys,

found a time tracking software called "timr" on the android market.

it seems to be quite useful - as I am using the free version for 1 user for 6 weeks already. there seem to be solutions up to 50 users and enterprises as I've read on their website www.timr.com (http://www.timr.com) I did not found comparable mobile solutions for time tracking and logbook for android so far.

does anyone else use it?

Nice find. When I finally do get my droid this will be one of the first paid apps I buy. Between photography side business and project timing for work this should work wonderfully.

If you use freshbooks (http://www.freshbooks.com/).... you cannot beat timedroid.... The synch feature is truthfully amazing! The app is free and the freshbooks account is free to an extend. but for the sidework i do I don't need the paid version of freshbooks.

another interesting time tracker: http://www.xperttimermobile.com

You can use it offline, as it's a native app and no web application. Therefore you can track your time anytime and everywhere...

Astrid's free version has some basic time tracking, although not as good as some of those mentioned here.

There's an advanced version available for $5 but the site isn't clear on what exactly that means.

Great program so far, though. Its on more than one best-of list.

Sorry to revive this old thread but if you're looking for a comprehensive and professional Android time tracking app, this is from the http://BusinessTimeApp.com website:

* Time sheet emails for easy invoicing
* Photos to ensure you keep accurate visual records
* Voice memos to minimise typing
* Projects to easily manage related tasks
* Maps to monitor time spent in each location
* Tags to see how much time you spend on similar tasks
* A to-do list to keep you focused
* Integrated address book to make it easy to contact clients
* Backup & restore functions to keep your data safe

Disclaimer: I am the developer of the app! I did a lot of research for Business Time and found the alternatives to be either too slow (login/sync/etc) or require too much typing and tapping. Business Time gets you started in one tap - try it for free :)

Please contact me if you have any questions about the app or feature requests!

Harvest just launched a sleek Android time tracker (with expense tracking capabilities). Able to record time online or offline.

It's a free companion to the Harvest time tracking service. Check it out here: http://www.getharvest.com/android-time-tracker

(note: we are the creators of this app, but we do believe it's a great option!)

what I'm using right now is Time Doctor, it's been amazing. I've been using it for months now.
I've recently read an awesome article about accurate time tracking, (http://www.timedoctor.com/blog/2010/11/16/5-reasons-why-most-time-tracking-software-is-flawed) which I think is important if you're still trying to decide what tool to use for your business. Because we have to admit that tracking your time can be most of the time problematic. I hope reading it will make it easier for you.

Nice but I am eager to know how it works and what are the benefits.

I find it amazing that a large number of solo attorneys still don't use a good time tracking and billing software. I have come across many of them in the high tech capital of the USA (i.e., the silicon valley). Many still use excel sheets. Some have moved to invoicing software that do not track time..hence, the users need to enter each line item in each invoice at the invoice generation time... not really a very pleasant situation. Some use different products for different tasks, which I find is an unnecessary waste of time. Some of these attorneys are intimidated by technology and some believes that these software are too expensive. While it may be true to some extend regarding some hosted software (they are both expensive and intimidating... you have to pay extra to get trained...), there are a number of Web-based software that do not required anything more than having a computer with an Internet browser (and are reasonably priced)... some of them have come up in the last 1-2 years. When I went solo from my in-house job, I struggled with time tracking and invoicing and according to my rough estimates, I lost more than $13K worth of billable hours because I did not bill the clients (because I didn't keep track of dates/times, etc.). I did look into many Web-based and hosted software. Again, there are a plenty of invoicing software out there but not many integrated software that offer features that are designed for solos and small firms. I also found that many big name products offered too many bells and whistles and were cumbersome to use. Based on my experiences, talking to other attorneys and using my background in software development, I designed a software (http://www.casesoft.com) keeping two things in mind 1. highly intuitive user interface (user shouldn't need to refer to a user manual), 2. KISS methodology (Keep It Simple Stupid). CaseFox is feature rich, easy to use and reasonably priced. I will appreciate if my fellow attorney can take a look at CaseFox and provide feedback. It is available for use for free for now. Basic plan will remain free starting next year and the paid subscription will be $10/month (and more depending on the number of cases). We are working on an Android app at the moment.

Thanks a lot! Very actual theme for me. As additional, try to use online-service for time-traсking 'Personal time' (http://manprogress.com/en/services/personaltime/index.html)

I have tried Time doctor and rescuetime. Both are good simple apps. I do not want a complex app, just a basic one. So that does good for me. i have also heard some good reviews about the one u mentioned. Till yet, none is useless.

The new harvest app looks really nice. Does anyone has experience with it? I use the time tracking app from http://www.clockodo.com. It has many features, but I have to be always online to track times.
