Yeah, well, kinda into home automation. I'm an X-10 guy from way-back, but my wife hates it,,,, soooo.....

I'm also an electrician, but came from Chicago and can't stand the miserable, lame, lousy, crackerbox construction done for residential occupancies in most of the rest of the country, so I steer clear of it. I'm mostly commercial and industrial, and work with industrial automation.

Also interested in an X10 app for my DROID. My whole house is set up with it.

I've seen a couple of apps for the iPhone to control X10 and they look pretty good. I also would LOVE to see something similar for my Android phone!

Wouldn't be hard to write one, but I first have to tile our upstairs bathrooms before I can convince my wife to let me put in Z-wave outlets/switches all around the house.

As soon as I have something I can test with, I'll write an app. :)

X10 is simple.

I'm looking for UPB and Zwave for lighting and something for security and HVAC also. Might start looking into some programming classes or something to get me going since no one else is getting too into it.
Actually, the owner/maker of the link above may start looking into UPB so anyone interested, keep an eye on his page. Making drop him a line to let him know you're interested too, might nudge him along a bit. What he has for X-10 is pretty impressive.

BTW, I can't believe how many people are still using X-10!! Thought everyone upgraded to UPB by now.

PS. anyone know of a good place to start with for programming??
