Well here we are, asking for information, please sign this thread if you think the same.

I'm on Sprint too and I'll give them more time If I don't get a concrete announcement about android on Sprint before Nov, 10 I will transfer my number to T-Mobile

Lets see if Sprint open their eyes and hurry with our needs.

Thanks

My advice: Just switch to T-Mobile. I tried to switch to Sprint in May when they had the best of the "All you can eat for $100" deals. They REALLY suck! What did I hate?

1) No SIM card. Want to change your phone? Gotta deal with Sprint...
2) My phone wouldn't ring at my house. Horrible coverage!
3) Only two phones allow you to travel around the world. Pretty bad selection!
4) I was on automatic payment plan and they sent my account to collection when I closed my account and started calling me. I asked "Aren't you going to withdraw the payment as you printed on the bill?" Answer: "We don't know." They did. Unbelievable!

Six years with T-Mobile and I never knew I had it so good until I spent 29 days with Sprint!

Just my US$0.02!

Reg

Bye Bye Sprint, T-mobile will get ~ $200 dollars from me every month, Sorry Sprint butt heads.

I've had no trouble with Sprint but that doesnt mean I'm not considering switching to Tmobile. Sprint can retain me as a customer if they'd reveal their Android plans. I dont want to wait a year but 3-6months...ok.

What about 4G and EVDO speeds?

What about 4G and EVDO speeds? While I don't have Sprint for phone service, I do have an EVDO Rev A.-only device for internet for $60/mo. Sometimes it's great, but usually it's just unpredictable. I don't know how much longer I can justify this expense. We'll see.

I would consider getting the 4G stuff from Xohm (Sprint's the majority owner, I think) for home use. $35.00/mo. sounds pretty good!

I second that! I really really really don't want to leave Sprint! But i want android badly! I don't want to switch to t-mobile, because no 3G coverage in my area, they are a year away from 3G here. While sprint has 3.5G (evdo revA) and moving closer to 4G. I have never had trouble with sprint, and I have a GREAT plan. I will give them 6 months to get their Android on, if not, bye bye Sprint.

well, sprint is the only other carrier to be part of the open handset alliance as of now... i could be wrong haven't checked...

but android was developed in conjunction with many of the OHA members, so sprint will more than likely see an android based phone soon enough... i wouldn't expect announcement til q2 though

sprint had the worst customer service I've ever experienced and their 411 service blows. I used to have nextel before it was sprint. I got to a person immediately after calling customer service AND the same when i called 411. I could even make dinner reservations and get movie times, local cab companies. When sprint took over I called 411 and was like "i need a cab" and i was told that unless i know the exact business name or address they cant connect me. Garbage. OH YEAH and They charged me double gov't taxes and fees on a few bills (one set for nextel, one for sprint) Do you believe that?!?! F sprint. Seriously! I got out of there REAL QUICK! ATT was nice but expensive, we'll see for T-mobile but so far the outlook seems good.

Well, right now, it seems they are disappionted with Android so they have not set date on when they will release the phone on their network. Rumors have it that they will release it in the fall of 2009.

Besides, when it finally come out for Sprint, you will have a phone that have been fully tested and it probably be at version 2 instead of version 1.

I made the jump from Sprint. Yes, you're right but at the same time you're going to wait a year without a G1 waiting on the G2. I'm enjoying it today. New apps are coming out everyday and it's exciting to wake up in the AM and see whats new in the Android world.

Starting from the ground up on a device doesn't have to be all heartache. Android is well developed. So far it's been a pleasure being along for the growing process.

I left Sprint for t-mobile. My sprint bill was $43 a month for nights starting at 7, unlimited data, unlimited text, full insurance, 500 minutes, sprint to sprint free. i know, right??

Now, with t-mobile, I pay $83 a month, 300 minutes, fave 5, nights @ 9, no t-mobile to t-mobile. BUT, I have the G1, and loving it.

Actually, if we're really doing this, I live in Lansing, MI, and drove to Chicago to get the phone. Camped out all night for it. Gas + $30 in parking. And, still enjoying the revolution Google has released!

Of course, take this at face value, I'm not trying to make a concrete announcement because one hasn't been made officially from Sprint, but I have a friend that works on their Mobile team for their PPCs, and he said something about a memo coming out saying that Android will be released in the second quarter of 2009.

I'm skeptical somewhat myself, but hoping at the same time that there's some truth in it.

there are rumors going around phandroid that HTC's android for sprint will be the hero. the rumor points out that the release date is 10/19/09 which is a sunday, and that the name "hero" might be sprint's choice because they have a lot of advertising tie ins with heros tv shows and movies.

has anyone else seen this?

shamefulzero

so phonenews.com is claiming that the hero is going to be a sprint exclusive. has anyone else heard this or seen this posted else where besides there?
