I've discovered that the G1 that I unlocked to put on AT&T has a terrible time maintaining a signal. My wife's iPhone has full service at the same time I get dropped. I downloaded the No Signal Notifier from the app store and the thing fires less than 5 minutes after I make the phone reconnect via the menu. It rarely reconnects on it's own.
Is there anything I can do?
I run CyanogenMod 4.1.999, though I don't know if that makes a difference.
One oddity I noticed is that the phone says "Your SIM card does not allow you to connect to that network" when I press the Automatic Network button. Might this be why it won't reconnect easily? How do I set that to AT&T rather than whatever it is now?
I've even had it connect to a Roaming network in the middle of Philadelphia, where AT&T always has strong signal. I have the feeling it's putting preference on non-AT&T networks, so that's why it's disconnecting.
Thanks!
Josiah
Edit: It has absolutely no trouble connecting to AT&T when I force it to. It connects right away... it just can't maintain the signal.
