marketplace and gmail problems. help appreciated.

my g1 has been acting up. For the past week, I haven't been able to download updates or new apps from the marketplace. It just sits there with the progress bar reading "starting download..." but nothing happens, and I'm on 3g with good signal.

Also, in the past couple of days gmail has not been receiving emails right away. I didn't get any all day yesterday and then all of a sudden a bunch showed up from yesterday. Similarly today nothing showed up and then I told it to check manually and emails from earlier in the day showed up. Checking my gmail in firefox on my pc worked fine, which is when I realized my phone didn't receive them.

I tried restarting my phone, hoping that would cure my ailing g1, but no luck.

I installed cyanogen 4.0.4 a month ago and everything had been working great until now. Internet works fine, even able to download files with no problems.

any ideas?

all i can think of is a wipe & re-flash 4.0.4

4.1.11.1 is very stable, if you're doing that anyway.

maybe someone else has another idea...
