Hey guys, just wondering if someone can shed some knowledge on me about a issue Ive been stressed about all day. To make a long story short I have a rooted g1. Now I messing with my phone early this morning n decided let me try and format my SD card. So me being the moron I am do it thru the g1 itself with the format option. Well come to find out my phone reboots and now doesn't want to go past the T mobile G1 screen which appears while you first boot. I'm going crazy because I need this phone for work. Anyone know how I can get this thing running again? Thanks for any info.

try booting into recovery, wipe, reflash your rom.

Thats the issue. Sdcard is formatted. Not a single file on it. The Update rom is no longer on the card so I cant reinstall everything all over. Tried a wipe but nothing. Still remains stuck on the g1 screen.

you need a card reader to put a rom on it.

No, even if I did its 1 am... lol been at this all day. Wish I knew how to avoid the card reader for now. I know it would make this a whole lot easier. Then I could just throw the rom on it then reflash. But impossible when I cannot access the card. Wish there was a way to access it thru the g1 still. lol. Stuck at the g1 spalsh screen sadly.

i'm pretty sure there is a way to do it through adb... not sure if that's something you want to undertake at 1 a.m.

yeah atleast not for the first time anyway... and considering i think everyone that would walk you through it has never done it either... yep buy a card reader, they are cheap. or if you computer has an sd slot get a microsd with one of those sdsized adaptors then you have an extra sd laying around just in case (i keep one loaded in my netbook at all times!)

for future reference, you can do it through command line using adb
-connect to computer using usb cable
-boot into recovery
-open a terminal on your computer
-type the following:
adb shell
ums_enable
then you should be able to put files on your sd card through your computer. when you're done, just type ums_disable

Thanks, that's good to know. Are you using the new 1.6 SDK?

Yup, although I assume it works on pre-1.6 versions of adb

I have one phone with 1.5 cupcake and one with 1.6 donut and they both work on both sdk's. I suppose I need to delete one to save some space.
