Hello,

Would it be possible to use the Android OS on the HTC Touch Pro?
I would like to have the street view feature on the Touch Pro, :)

Thanks!

Is it possible to make it dual boot, like a computer with XP and Vista, or an emulator to run Android and WM6?
I really like the Google Street View with compass option, but I also like WM6, :'(

Negative. you much 'cook' a boot image, and unlike the PC the boot loader doesn't allow for some generic process to take ownership of the boot. You have to pick an OS and go with it. The problem with cooking a straight android image for any HTC (non dream) mobile device is that it is every expensive to turn it into a brick. As more development effort goes into working on the free android OS, and people get more comfortable with how it works with cheaper devices, they will port it directly to the touch/touch pro/ touch HD.

bide your time...it will come. In the mean time, emulate linux in your winmo device, and then load the android emulator form there.

So, right now there is no way to remove the WM OS and install the Android OS?

I'll patiently wait for someone smarter than I am to develop that possibility...

Or, I'll impatiently wait!:)

there most likely is, its just a matter of how well you know your way around the phone and WM. and if you mess it up its a nice $500 brick/paperweight :)

Your best bet to find better info for android on your Touch Pro would be to scour the forums on xda-developers.com

They were just able to launch Android on the Elfin (seems that it was a bual boot since the files were all stored on the memory card.) It'll be a while before a good workign version will come out for the Pro, but it will definitely happen.

ive been asking the same questions and the only devheads to come close to my answers are from the xdadevelopers squad. Nothing is set in stone yet but it seems like their getting close, have you heard anything even if i could flash it to my touch pro that would hold me over for awhile.

Looks like such a gem of a spot mate! I love the look of those big old trees running along the banks.
Great to see the bass are still in there growing big and fat!
