View Full Version : T-Mo Having Issues While Absorbing SunCom?

Has anyone else noticed an abnormally high number of dropped or failed calls in the last few weeks?
I noticed, but didn't really think much about it until I heard several co-workers talking about it.
I've been with T-Mo for years and I've never had reason to complain. But recently I've noticed about 1 in 4 calls getting dropped or failing, and about half the time it takes unusually long to connect.
My local T-Mo contact says this is due to some technical issues encountered while trying to integrate SunCom's network assets.
Has anyone else noticed this, or has anyone heard a similar explanation?

Back in June/July, I was having a lot of problems receiving calls here in Orlando. My phone would be on with 5 bars but when people would call, they would get a message that the number was no longer in service. I could call my phone from work and witness this for myself, but after a few hours it would go back to normal. I even called Customer Support from my phone and the only way they could contact me was if they called from their internal phone system. Using an outside line would never work.
During a trip to Philly in July, I had the same problem, and perhaps not coincidentally, Philly and Orlando were getting 3G systems installed and tested over the summer.

yeah my network here in NYC is just fine... you should call t-mobile see if you have any cell towers being worked on. that might be your issue. ;)

I'll call someone, talk for maybe 5 seconds, then my bars drop to zero and the call will drop. I can call them back and we're ok. This happens frequently. Also, I can't send images in text messages anymore. Whenever I attach an image to a message, the phone reboots. Weird, and super !#$% annoying.
I live in Charlotte, NC, and used to be a happy SunCom customer before T-Mobile arrived.
