[/URL]http://androidcommunity.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=565&stc=1&d=1223348256T-Mobile soon will introduce a new service and a new device for its subscribers. It is not a phone, it is not a Bluetooth headset. What is it? A Picture frame with a sim card built in. Back on January, Parrot announced the new DF7700, a digital picture frame with a GSM sim card in it. T-Mobile USA soon will offer this service. For 10 dollars per month add it in your account, you will get a new simcard with a number.
You will send a picture message to that number and automatically, your photo will show up on the frame. We don’t know if T-mobile will use the Parrot picture frame, but we sure know T-Mobile will call it CAMEO. The picture frame will be purchased for 100 dollars.
Stay tuned for more information.

I agree - it is useless and do not think it will pass market taste

I'm not sure why someone would pay monthly for this when they could just buy a digital picture frame instead and load their pictures onto it. It does make it easier I guess and it can be done from far away which is a plus, but the picture quality cant be that great coming from a cell phone.

Wow, lol. Just in the time it took me to write my post it got shot down my two other people. Thats a good sign it's not going to be a big hit.

i think they could market that towards parents who have kids away to college or sappy couples in long distance relationships, but that is about it. If someone wants to show you a picture they could just send it to your cell phone. so very useless.

I agree... another thing is the price. Comparing it with Tmobile@Home service and having in mind their WiFi optional services - for the same price - makes picture frame way behind :) ... if it was like $2-$5 price range - maybe grandparent would be targeted more since they are not into hi-tech cell phone industry stuff :)

nokia has already tried this twice and no go. $10 a mo service for a picture frame. LOL, never.

It could be good for a not so tech savy grandma to send pics of the grandkids....

I can immediately see where this would work, but I think the pricepoint ruins it. If I could make a one-time purchase of even $150 dollars, I would do this right now, but to pay $10 per month... yuck.

My mom lives in another state and is always bugging me for more pictures of the grandkids. I would buy the picture frame for her and then as I take pictures of the kids, I would hit the "cameo" button and they would appear on her picture frame. I could see how she would love this, seeing new pics of the kids just showing up everyday. By the way, I would much rather do this than take a bunch of pics and email them, or txt to her phone. The technology is just much more convenient for me, and definitely for her as she is not tech savvy.

Again. The monthly plan is what kills this for me. Fix that and I'm on board.

yeah, i was thinking about those 8mp camera's I saw on one of the recent android vids from the uk...If you had something like that and a grandma across the country, and the disposable income, then yeah, i could see someone like that buying it.

you can already buy digital frames that sync with online photo albums for no monthly fee. just snap a pic and send to your album and it will ppear in the frame.

why would anyone buy this one?

actually it would be kinda cool if you didnt have to pay monthy for it. think about it, your friends grandparents are over looking at their summer vacation photos when all the sudden, you pic message it something below your waist. LOL

Pic2Frame Android app, anyone?

It's a cool idea, but needs to be free.

I wasn't aware of that. Do you have an example? I'd love to check it out.
