Centon 8GB Micro SD (Class 6)

I just got two of these from Woot.com... This was my only bad purchase apparently so far. They took over two weeks to get here and may be DoA!!! My camera won't recognize them (I got two so I could take pictures with my 10MP camera and mobile upload them)... neither will my computer or G1.

Has anyone else had any experience with Centon? Or perhaps this same batch from woot (during the last wootoff)? I dread having to ship them back and wait longer... sad day for me. And it's raining like the first stages of the flood right now.

That sucks man... I don't ever buy off of any 'unknown' sites anymore.

Only amazon / newegg / ebay (sometimes).

One time I bought a G1 case off of handhelditems.com (i think) and it took forever!
Amazon took less than 7 days.

Woot is far from an "Unknown" site.
It is an off brand....or could be a bad batch.
I've never had a problem with anything I've bought from Woot!.
Sadly sounds like you'll have to return them.

Oh, Woot! shipping is notoriously SLOOOOOOW. Sometimes it is worth the extra money to upgrade shipping. But yeah, if you order from them you should expect two weeks. I'm not very patient, but when I order from them I do my best.

They've never been that slow for me... I normally get everything about a week after it was ordered. But, during the last wootoff I've gotten the items from 4 days to 15 days! hahaha I guess that's something to expect from wootoffs now.

And I wouldn't consider Woot.com an 'unknown site'... but some of the things they sell off are odd brands (anyone see those bright green 'mini' power tools?!).

I haven't done ANYTHING to my G1 yet (not due to lack of desire, but time...) and it says that it's V1.1. Could that be part of it? I'm also trying to get the XP hotfix that should allow my SD card reader to work for SDHC cards (should have thought about that before I woke up and tried to play with my new toys). [Link to the hotfix below if anyone else needs it or wants to try it out.]

Still crossing my fingers though... and if this doesn't work, I may look into someone's prepartioned cards (with scripting instructions to save me time). Anyone have experience with those? I've looked into both sellers here... still debating though.

That's strange. I don't know what the deal is but when you've inserted in into the G1, and connected it to the computer through with the USB to mini usb cord.

Did you mount it? If you select the notification that tells you its connected to the computer, it'll ask if you want to mount it or not.

You've probably done this, I'm just throwing the little that I know out there.
