I have a small feature request:

I would like to be able to remove a folder from the music search. The reason for this is that I have ringtones etc on my SD card and if I put a ".nomedia" file in the folder the ringtones can't be used so that kinda sucks but I also don't want to have them played on shuffle :)

Also, it would be nice if I was able to create a playlist in rockon, right now I make them in the regular player.

hi there,

the easiest way for removing directories from the media player is probably to add a '.nomedia' file within the directory you wish to remove.

(this works for all players not just rockon).

version 1.4 has been released on the website:

1.4 is an important release! It is the first one after RockOn has been made open source and it is also the first update in 2 months. It includes improvements to the app memory managemnt, start-up and rotation times, to the full screen mode and some other minor bug fixes. It also paves the road for important improvements that will be made in the next couple of months. Thanks to everyone that has been sending those bug reports and stay tuned for the next improvements!

The open source development team members are now getting to know each other and I hope to have more contributions from other people throughout time.

v1.4 should be available on the android market tomorrow (if no makor bug is found until then).

Great news, Fabrantes! I loved the look of RockOn, but it was too laggy for my tastes. Hopefully this is the start of a newer, faster RockOn. I'm glad I didn't refund it. :)

I have put a new version on the Market (and the website). I think that finally I got the album scrolling list right!!

This version is a massive improvement over previous versions in terms of the trade-off between memory consumption and album list scrolling speed [this version consumes very little memory and the album list scrolling is freaking fast].

just as a reminder for a few of the most frequent bugs [Im working on those too]:

if you have a 'blank' screen -- try changing your playlist of from 'recently added songs' (in the future there will be a warning stating that there are 0 songs in the list)
if you get ghost images when transitioning from one album to the other -- try adding a background picture in the preferences (still dunno how I will fix this, but Ill have a look)

I haven't found any new bugs, the album refresh took mere seconds :)

However, I can't swipe left to go to previous songs but that has never worked for me, only swiping right for next song.

heh, previous song is still in the works, and not yet on the top of the priorities so it may still take some time. Next on the list are some minor bug fixes and proper headset handling.

I am sorry if it is a stupid question but how to refresh the music library after copying a new album on SD.

You can get a gold watch from Sylvie by clicking on her when you see her at Sylvane Lake, or else, try the Yard Sales.

Or are u asking about finding Patrick's watch for the dojo task?
There are 3 secret chambers. Buy a map from the Yard Sales if you don't have one, and enter the tunnels. Use it to find the 3 secret places. When you see a rock on the wall, click it. You will get the watch.

Please note that unless you are appointed the task from the dojo, you can't get the watch. You probably have to be your the Green Belt to get the task. Only then you'll be able to find the watch, or else u won't.

I am trying to use RockOn 1.4 on Samsung Behold II (Android 1.5), but all the text comes up as black on a black background. Anyone know if that's changeable?

I am trying to use it with DoubleTwist to bounce my itunes non protected music to the phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This player looks nice, but IMHO needs a some improvements to be more friendly for user.
As for me buttons too small to operate by fingers. And timeline thin too.
Also programm support only unicode ID tags for non-English charsets.
