Which data plan are you going to get?

I'm going to go with the $25 one - Unlimited net is all I need and i'm not that much of a heavy texter. I still text, but I doubt i'll get close to 400.

For IM's, i'll probably resort to Meebo for AIM/MSN and will use GTalk for business related stuff.

I text like crazy! Every month I'm over 3,000 at least. Except for this month because my current service is having problems and haven't received a text message for almost 6 days now. I'm hating Helio more and more every day!

I'll be trying out the $25 data plan and I'll see how 400 texts will last me. I just wish they'd offer a little more, because they come in real handy in buildings where my signal cuts off and on and using IM is useless when you're disconnected every so often. :(

It just dawned on me, I signed up for the $35.00 plan, but we have the unlimited family text messaging plan. I guess that means I can switch to the $25.00 plan.

How much extra is the unlimited texting in the family plans? I'm forking in $5 a month for 400, if unlimited for the three of us is around $10 might as well get that.

Yeah I got the $35 plan cause i definitely need the 3g and I text about 5k msgs a month on my sidekick so i had to do what was smart even though the bill gon be like $15 more lol

i text alot as it is, i barely hit half of my allowed minuted a month, which is at the lowest offered. and now, with a full keyboard, i'll definitely need unlimited texts!

hey just so you guys know when i talked to the T-Mobile Rep they said even if you have a family plan with unlimited texts you cannot use it. Getting a G1 with plan basically puts you on your own.

Complete Opposite of what the rep i talked to said. In fact, she gave be the idea that that would work (didnt eve know there was such service on my plan :)

Yup, I just got off the phone with customer care and the CSR was unsure so I asked to speak to a supervisor and I was informed that yes, a family plan with unlimited texting will allow the $25 data plan to have unlimited texting.

Dont really use regular text msg.
But, I heard that MSN will count as txt msg, so I am a little worried about the 400 msg.
How much does it cost if it is over the limit?

FYI, I think that instant messaging (AIM, etc.) count as text messages. I used AIM on my old phone and thought it was separate from text messaging. My $70 text message charge for that month said otherwise. I'm not sure if that's still the case, but check with a T-Mo rep to be sure. Just tryin to do my part to save everyone some green with the way the economy is.

Well, until now I did not have txt sms package at all and my usage charges for SMSs were about $10 avg every month. I guess I was lazy - now, I will not notice much of a difference on my bill but 15$ extra for all of the web plus 400 smss :) niiiice :)

From what i understand, the IM apps on the G1 do NOT consume text messages...there seems to be confusion about this, anyone know for sure?

i average a little over 3000 texts a month so i went ahead with the $35 data plan and i already get a feeling that since i'm new to the smartphone community being in these forms will become somewhat of a part time job (and i'm going to love every moment of it). i may be a little lost but will it be shipped my UPS ground on Oct 22 or same day air?

If any type of instant message count as txt then ill get the 25 but if not than ill have to get $35 plan.

I've had the 400 text plan for 4.99 for almost a year now, and rarely do I go over, even with two daily horoscopes sent to my phone. I used to have a ton more texting friends in the area, but now that I don't, I think the 25$ plan will be fine.

That's all i really use the phone for, texting or internet required application's.
I only use the phone after 9. Stay Safe! lol =]
