Hey,

Is the only way to preorder a G1 is to have an existing T-Mobile Account and upgrade to the G1? Can I start a new T-Mobile service now and preorder the G1 immediatly (I have a unlocked n95 currently)?

The T-mobile site appears to only allow preorders to upgrades, but I'm wishful for a work around ;)

hello there yes you do have to be an existing customer in order to preorder the phone im not exactly sure as to if you got tmobile service today if you would be able to preorder it but i know someone on this forum has the answer

I was told that non-Current T-Mobile users will have to purchase their phones on the launch date.

However I have a feeling that G1 launch isn't going to have the hype the iPhone had. A large portion of iPhone customers bought the phone because of its looks and not its features. With this in mind, many of them don't even understand how open source software will revolutionize the mobile marketplace.
