G1 with AT&T?

but is it possible to have AT&T service while using the G1 as the mobile?
also would AT&T data plan work with the G1?

i have the G1 and i like it a lot but i'm getting tired and a bit frustrated at tmo and their charges.

Yes I have an Unlocked G1 Running on AT&T right now. Make sure if you buy one off of ebay to have the correct APN settings for AT&T.

I'm on AT&T (pick your plan), and they don't have anything for me above 10MB per month, after which it's a penny a KB or something. This means I don't find myself using the EDGE data very much; I mostly wait until I'm where I can get wifi.

I recommend buying one at walmart and then using an unlock website (someone who runs one posted on these forums a while back); it's not only cheaper than they appeared to be going for on eBay, but seems less risky.

i have a family plan. and well with rollover, i can get the very very minimum, then with the rollover i do get, it get accumulated which is good cuz i have more than one line.

well i've done a lot of calculating and it seems like att would be cheaper for me in the long run. BUT one thing i don't like is that the G1's 3G won't work on att :(

I'm using my G1 on At&t and the EDGE speeds are identical to T-Mobile and they even have better EDGE coverage where I am. I don't really care about 3G since T-Mobile doesn't have coverage here anyways and prob won't for awhile. By the time they do I'm sure there will be a better At&t compatible Android phone.
