Well, I just got my G1, after pulling some strings to get it.

Unlike what kaziko said, I'm not able to use the phone whatsoever. After half an hour on the phone with T-Mobile, they told me that there is a specific data plan for the G1, and it won't be available until Oct. 23rd (release date is the 22nd, I know)

I put in my SIM card, the phone starts up, asks for a Google account. I punched in my account. The phone says "Your phone is communicating with Google servers blah blah" Then "There is a problem with the servers ... your SIM card may not be provisioned for data services ... "

So that's all I can do with the phone. Is there a way to get past the setup screen just so I can play around with the non-network functions?
