If what you’re looking for in a wearable is more for fitness and tracking purposes rather than a smartwatch that lets you interact more with your connected device, then you’re better off just getting a fitness band rather than an actual smartwatch. But if you want something that looks like the latter but functions like the former, then you might as well get the newest member of the Fitbit family, the Blaze.

Instead of a monochrome screen like its previous smartwatch Surge, Fitbit Blaze has a colored screen and is more of an activity tracker or fitness watch as compared to others in the market. Some of its fitness related features are the Fitstar Personal Trainer on-screen workouts, the PurePulse continuous heart rate tracking system based on your pulse obviously, a multi-sport mode that records the specific activity you’re doing like biking, running, cardio, yoga, weights, etc.

The SmartTrack automatic exercise recognition meanwhile has the ability to figure out what you’re doing based on continuous movement like what you do when running, biking, etc. If you want to get better real-time data like distance, pace, minute-mile split times, you need to be connected to your smartphone’s GPS. The stats will automatically sync to your Fitbit dashboard so you can check it out and analyze later on. It also has basic notification features so you’re up to date with what’s going on in your connected smartphone.

Design-wise, the Fitbit Blaze has a modular design so you can put it into different frames and premium interchangeable bands. The one with the black, blue or plum classic elastomer bands will cost $29.95, the ones with the luxe genuine leather bands in black, mist grey, and camel will be at $99.95, while the luxe stainless steel model is priced at $129.95. It is available for pre-orders now but global retail availability will be on March 2016.
