Samsung continues its commitment to its “premium feel” A-Series – the line of devices that spawned the discontinued Samsung Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5. We’ve heard rumors of the Galaxy A7, and now we’re finally getting a first look at the Galaxy A8 – from Nowhereelse.fr, otherwise known as “the French guy with great Asian connections”.

The specs are reportedly as follows – the Samsung Galaxy A8 will be identified by its device code, SM-A8000. It will be a phablet device, with a 5.7-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED screen powered by an octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, and supported by 2GB RAM and 16Gb internal storage. Samsung didn’t skimp on the camera, the device will be getting a 16MP/5MP camera combo, as well as a physical home button that incorporates a fingerprint reader. All of these runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and a 3,050mAh battery.

Not bad specs, and you can expect this high-end feel because Samsung wants to give these devices a premium look and feel – complete with the metal frame that is the signature of the A-Series. The phablet is quite slim as well, at 5.9mm.

As of the moment, we have no price and launch date for the Samsung Galaxy A8. It might be that the device will, for the moment, be available in Asian markets – as Samsung has done with the other A-Series devices.
