Bethesda banked on this new mobile game – “Fallout Shelter” – to build the hype to its proper game release come November. By that count, the game developer can already call Fallout Shelter as a relative success – after its launch, the game has become the most downloaded game in iOS in 48 different countries. Bethesda is now bringing the fun over to the Android side of things, with the game launching in August and totally free to play.

With the game harping on the franchise’s recognizable art, Fallout Shelter is definitely a good game to pick up for fans of Fallout in general. The game puts you in charge of your very own post-apocalyptic Vault, like the ones you know so well from the Fallout franchise. It’s your job to make sure the Vault Dwellers are always happy, healthy and protected. But this may be a job trickier than it seems to be.

Bethesda also announced that “Mr. Handy” – a utility robot that can do a lot of tasks for you – will now be available as a new premium reward for players of the game. As you attempt to provide some semblance of control and order on your vault, Mr. Handy can help you collect resources inside your Vault, go into the wasteland to collect useful items, and even help you defend your Vault from molerats and deathclaws.

So for Android gamers, it will not be too long a wait for August 13th, when Bethesda will finally bring the game over to the Google Play Store. Of course, we will let you know when that happens so you can start gaming immediately.
