The more friends you have and the more pages you follow, navigating your Facebook News Feed becomes trickier and trickier. But the social networking giant keeps on implementing experiments and changes so that it’s more manageable for the users. It seems like they’re once again trying out something new, at least on selected accounts using the mobile app, to reduce the clutter and organize the information we get on our timelines. While some users always complain about the changes they implement, this may be something people will appreciate.

Based on the screen caps posted by a Facebook user named Jason Stein, it looks like Facebook is automatically sorting the content of our news feed and categorizing them into “Headlines”, “Travel”, “Style”, and more. We’re not sure what’s under the more category, but hopefully it will include sports, entertainment, etc. It will also be customizable, although as to what extent, that we still don’t know. But it will be extremely convenient if this will eventually be applied to all accounts and all regions and even on the web-based Facebook.

Some users have also reported that the Marketplace icon is now more prominently displayed, giving users the push to both buy and sell with local merchants, as well as purchase from pages and products that they have liked. Unfortunately, it seems that only a few users have been able to access this, but that’s understandable since they are still in the testing phase.

And since this new parsing of our newsfeed is still testing too, don’t panic if you don’t see it on your Android app. Facebook randomly sends out these trials and updates to various users, so if you’re one of the lucky few, do tell us if the new categorized newsfeed has made going through your timeline better or worse.
