If you’re one of the chosen Facebook users who had more than just the like button to react to your friends’ posts, then you probably have had your fun just choosing various emojis for their different posts (hopefully, appropriate ones). It looks like the testing period is almost finished and the social network giant is prepared to officially roll out this new feature pretty soon. This means all Facebook users will soon be able to “haha”, act surprised, or tear up at your statuses.

For those who were not lucky enough to be part of the test group and don’t know what we’re talking about, Facebook launched last October a minimal roll-out of additional emojis to complement the like button. These included the heart emoji (for those that you more than just like), laughing emoji (if it’s funny or you want to be sarcastic), the yay emoji (because, well, you want too say yay), the wow emoji (when you can’t even), the teary emoji (well, when you’re sad), and the angry emoji (you get the drift).

But apparently in the final stages of the test, the yay emoji didn’t make the cut for some reason, because it was “not universally understood”. It may not seem like a big deal, but having other options aside from like is very useful, as you want to react to your friend’s post but a like would be inappropriate (and you don’t want to comment either).

Once the official update has rolled out, users just have to tap and long press the like button to see the five other options and then choose which one you want to use by tapping on it. This is a far cry from the dislike button, but at least you now have options.
