Truth be told, after playing Episodes 1 and 2 of Telltale Games’ take on the Borderlands gaming franchise – an episodic mobile game called “Tales from the Borderlands” – I was pumped, because it was such a great game. I was also sad that Telltale Games did one over itself and would probably not be able to sustain the production of the next few episodes, especially as Episode 2 was really great. These are the times that I am glad to be wrong. Episode 3 is here, and it’s a trip… nay, it’s a journey.

If you remember Episode 2, it was called “Atlas Mugged” and it continued on the path of Rhys and Fiona in a heist gone terribly wrong. The fun level got seriously pushed a couple of notches up from the first episode. But it looks like we’re in for another gaming ride with Episode 3, aptly called “Catch a Ride”.

The story moves to its midpoint in Episode 3, with a few cameos from the Borderlands characters you love/hate so much. There are also some new characters introduced, and the patented humor of the series really comes through in this episode. Telltale Games has been known for their more “serious” work, like in “The Walking Dead”, but the consensus is that they really know how to tell a joke or two.

You can pay USD$15.00 for the whole series, including the episodes not yet out – and it looks like even at that amount, this is going to be a steal. The production value of the game is just that good. Or you can spend USD$5.00 per episode. You do the math, but we tell you now – the USD$15.00 is worth every single cent.
