Guess what, there are real parts in the Droid X. Sorry to disappoint you if you thought it was powered by magic. Around here, we love seeing a good teardown, mainly because we can watch the dissection without potentially harming our own devices. This teardown was performed by the good folks over at Droidx.net and they were even nice enough to include instructions and a video.

All you need to tackle this project yourself is a Hex X5 and X4 screwdriver and a good old fingernail. There’s a bit of tech know how and skill at dissembling computer parts also recommended. But if you’re like me, just sit back and enjoy the video. It’s best to watch more skilled people execute things like this.
