The DROID 2 that’s been the focus of many rumors, has not even been confirmed by Verizon, until now. If you call Verizon’s 800 number and are put on hold, you will hear the new audio ad that advertises the device.

Now the ad doesn’t give too many details, just confirms the Global’s existence. With it you will be able to “have the ability to make calls in more than 221 countries” yes, that’s more countries than there is on Earth. Looking past the marketing error we know it will be running 2.2, have a slide out QWERTY keyboard, and will be CDMA and GSM.

Hopefully we will hear more about this phone soon, as it’s expected to replace the DROID 2.
