The Android community got excited when Disney Infinity finally got a version for the mobile platform. The ‘Disney Infinity: Toy Box 3.0’ only rolled out last year. Unfortunately, there’s a report that Disney will be halting production. Some changes will be made within the Disney Infinity community but before it happens, there are more retail releases that can be expected. Disney will be releasing three new characters from the upcoming movie “Alice Through the Looking Glass”. They will be out this May while a Finding Dory Play Set will be available next month.

The Disney Infinity team is grateful for all the support. Through the years, it has worked with the Avalanche team, production and publishing teams based in Disney’s Glendale office, and the external development partners.

Disney Infinity’s Senior Vice President and General Manage John BlackBurn posted a blog on their official website and acknowledged the help of all fans and partners. We’re not really sure what happened but we also heard that Disney would be ending support for some games on mobile. Well, this is a business and we’re assuming that numbers aren’t doing well.

The game series being discontinued will definitely bring disappointed to a lot of children and parents who have grown to love Disney Infinity.

John BlackBurn said:

Our goal for Disney Infinity was to bring the best of Disney storytelling to life in homes around the world, and with your support we accomplished that. We hope you had as much fun playing the game as we had making it.”

We sure did have fun playing the game. Sad day for the kiddos, sorry.
