For artists and designers, sometimes they look at the world through a certain kind of pantone/pixel/DPI/RGB lens. But what if you could have an actual lens that can actually tell you these kinds of information? Well now, you actually could, even if it’s just on your mobile phone. The Pixolor app can give you a zoomed view of the pixels on your device, and can help both designers and people whose eyesight isn’t what it used to be.

The app basically give you a floating circle that you can hover over any part of your screen and it will tell you the color code or coordinates of the pixels of the particular area. You will also be able to find out the size of any region of your screen. It will also give you the closest color from the Material Design palette. And if you open the app itself, it will give you an entire palette based on the color you highlighted with the floating eyedropper.

If there are some parts on your screen that you can’t read, you can also use the eyedropper tool as a sort of magnifying glass and enlarge the text so you can read it. You will also be able to share a screenshot or a circular image of that part of your screen that you want to share, either to ask a question and crowdsource your answer or as a visual guide for an artist or designer that you’ve engaged for a project.

You can download Pixolor from the Google Play Store for free. There are no in-app purchases available.
