Being excited about a piece of tech, or the next best thing in the gadget industry is pretty much normal for anyone. And one of the best ways to calm your beating heart is to watch an unboxing. And, let’s face facts here, the best unboxing videos come from our friends over at SlashGear. Today’s is no different, as we get a first-hand look at the upcoming Dell Streak, the 5-inch tablet running our beloved Android Operating System (OS).

Chris Davies does his handiwork with his usual bit of flair, as he opens up the box, shows us all the goodies inside, and then gets right into showing off the Mobile Internet Device (MID). You could probably get away with calling this a tablet, if you really wanted to (it’s been called that enough over the last several months that we don’t think we could fault you on it). Features wise, you’re looking at a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen, with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor running underneath the hood to keep everything humming along at a nice tick. You’ll be using Android 1.6 out of the box, but Dell has said that they’ll be upgrading the MID to Android 2.2 (or Froyo) later in the year, probably when they get all the customization worked out.

Other features include a 5MP camera on the back, and a front-facing camera to go along with it. There’s access to 3G, WiFi, GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1 support. You can add a microSD cad as well, for memory upwards of 32GB, if you were so inclined. Price wise, you’ll be looking at $500 unlocked; while on O2, you’ll be paying £149 for the 16GB model, and £249 for the 32GB version, but only on a 24 month contract. You can find more pricing details here.
