Madfinger Games rolled out the last update for Dead Trigger 2 earlier in the month. While that update added quite a bit of new content, it also served to tease the Christmas update. No specific release date was given at the time, however it looks like the update has arrived in the Play Store today. Madfinger has this one arriving as v0.3.0 and has dubbed it “The Big Update.”

According to details coming from the announcement, this update has “almost” doubled the game content. Users are now “able to travel across three regions across different parts of the Earth.” And with that comes the ability to explore 15 different environments, grab their favorite from one of 30 kinds of weapons and play in more than 150 gameplays.

Specifically here, this update has added the Chinese environment and also some Christmas themed goodies. The Christmas items will be available only during the holiday season and means users will be able to grab some presents. These include “truly non-conventional melee weapons such as the Big Hammer, Brain Mill, Machete or special Butterfly Swords that provide a completely different gaming experience and make the game much more enjoyable.”

Along with the addition of the Chinese environment and limited time Christmas goodies, Dead Trigger 2 players will also notice a new system of achievements and challenges. In this case players will get the in-game currency of gold as a reward. This includes support for Play Games and as it had been users will still get rewards for participating in global missions.

Aside from the update, Madfinger has also been talking some numbers. Here we have talk of Dead Trigger 2 having been downloaded more than 10 million times. This of course, includes downloads from Android and iOS. Otherwise, those playing between December 24-26 and between December 31-January 2 will be able to get 1.5 times more free Gold with Tapjoy’s Free gold offer.
