Colorware has done it again, you guessed it this time they have gone and colorized the G1. Now those of you who can’t decide on a color won’t have to. This company has been bringing color to handsets and devices with great quality for some time now.
Though their services are a bit on the steep side, we can personally testify to the superb quality of their work. Its going to cost you anywhere from $15 for the keyboard or bottom of the device to $220 for the entire thing. If you still haven’t purchased your T-Mobile G1 yet well you’re in luck. They also offer the units as well starting at $770 without a contract. The price breakdown goes as follows, Main Display $175, Keyboard $15, Bottom $15 and back for $15. We would love to see pictures of the colors out members have chosen.

Where are you getting your stats on G1 replacement? I haven't heard too many problems coming from the mature individuals that know how to care for such a device.

Back on Topic, what do these guys do? take apart your G1 and spray paint it? If so I could do that for a lot cheaper and I wouldn't offer colour schemes that made the G1 look like something from Fisher Price.

This is worth it to me... 2-3 weeks... so worth it. No t-mo and warrnty and paintjob and phone unlocked but could'nt do 2 year.

Just the right shade! I actually like it, not sure how well my eyes would take it every day.
The HTC G1 is an entry-level phone with a very poor build and an obvious escape plan. Face it guys, it's a cool phone but you know it's crap. But who cares, I bought the first Sidekick ever and I expect to be buying a replacement for my G1 sometime in late 2009. You know it's only going to be about a year before a nicer Anroid phone comes out, even through TMobile.
But paying for a paint job on a phone with a crappy, squeaking screen hinge and a soft keyboard? No way.
We need an Android phone with a nicer build. Stat.
