A few weeks before the Mobile World Congress started in Barcelona there were rumors that Cheetah Mobile, a developer of mobile utility apps, was coming up with their first smartphone. And apparently those sources were right as they have now introduced the CheetahPhone, a device co-branded with Cubot, a manufacturer of premium-design gadgets. The selling point of this smartphone is that it will last 38% longer than other smartphones running on stock Android (5.1.1 and above).

Cubot may not be a household name, but it is considered one of China’s “White Tigers” that will challenge established names like Huawei and Xiaomi. Meanwhile, Cheetah Mobile is famous for their Clean Master app, among other products. The CheetahPhone sports a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 HD display and is powered by an ARM 64-bit octa-core 1.5GHz processor. It has 3GB RAM, has 32GB internal storage and a bonus of 10GB cloud storage. Camera-wise, it has 13MP main cam and an 8MP front-facing one. The device itself measures 149 x 74.9 x 7.95 mm.

If you’re still not convinced with its pretty impressive specs (well, at least paper-wise), then you’ll probably be pleased to know that it comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. It will also come with Cubot’s personalized launcher, a Gallery app that will facilitate easy and fast transfer of images across your other devices, and even Cheetah Mobile’s wallpapers and themes.

The device will come in gold, rose gold, and space grey and will be available for pre-order starting March 20 through Amazon. It will first be available in Europe and then expand to Africa afterwards. The CheetahPhone’s SRP is €199 or around $220.
