With CeBIT 2010 going on in Germany we’ve seen various Android-based devices on show, as the Google OS gains traction among OEMs.  jkkmobile grabbed some hands-on time with the BYD Alice, which has a ridiculous name (for a tablet) but decent specifications.

The Alice has an 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 touchscreen and is based on NVIDIA’s first-gen Tegra chipset for HD video playback.  It has both WiFi and Bluetooth, as well as 3G, together with 8GB to 16GB of onboard memory and a 0.3-megapixel webcam.  The whole thing measures 210 x 120.5 x 14 mm and looks pretty darn appealing in the video below.  No word on pricing or availability, though.

If you recognize the name BYD, that could be because of the Snaptop smartbook prototype from MWC 2010 last month.  That also ran Android, though on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with a custom UI and detachable wireless keyboard.
