One of the biggest complaints for many that opt to use Box.net cloud storage options over the competition (like Dropbox) is the file size limitations they have over file uploads. Now along with a completely redesigned and improved Box.net 2.0 for Android we have an increase to file limits and much more. Read on for more details.
Today Box is giving us a quick recap of their newest version 2.0 of their popular Android app. While the app has had previews before this is an entirely new experience. Previews will allow documents and over 75 different file types to be previewed without ever opening the file. This makes browsing files and documents on Android devices an absolute breeze.
Now for the good stuff. Box gives all users 5GB free out of the gate, but sadly they only allow 100MB file uploads. Something that many users have always complained about. Big changes are here because now they’ve more than doubled that. We now will be able to upload files up to 250MB in size with Box. Oh and don’t mind the poor photoshop skills in the photos below. The Galaxy S III does not have on-screen navigation keys.
Now I can host all my CM10 builds and Nandroid backups on Box.net because they’ll allow bigger file uploads. Good stuff guys! It appears that Box is aiming to have an even better 2013 than they did in 2012 by making these changes last minute. Oh and don’t forget all you LG owners (that includes the Nexus 4) get 50GB storage free with any LG device.
