OEM Blu has released their initial list of devices that will be getting an upgrade to Anrdoid 4.4 KitKat. While there were some notable gadgets left off the list, a statement posted on their Facebook page assures consumers that they are working on having all their phones and phablets upgraded as soon as they can.

The Blu phones that were released last year already had Android 4.2.2 or Jellybean and users were waiting for when they will be upgraded to the newest Android platform. The gadgets that will be getting their updates “in the coming days” are a mix of their high-end devices, the newer phones and even some lower-end handsets. Included in the list are: Life Play, Life 8 (mid-range neon-colored phone), Dash 5.5, Dash 5.0, Vivo IV (a 5-inch AMOLED screen budget smartphone) , Neo 4.5, Studio 6.0 HD (budget phablet), Studio 5.5.

What’s surprising about the list is that some of its newer models, including the Life Pure XL, their 8 MP front camera flagship phone, have not been included in the initial round of updates. But they mentioned in their statement on their Facebook page that devices that are not included this time around might be added in the future, and they will do their best to do so. They also said that “unfortunately sometimes things take time,” leaving us with the assumption they are having difficulties with updating some of the devices.

Initial rumors had several devices like Pure, Pure Mini, and Pure XL included in the list, but somehow, they were left off of it. There hasn’t been any added statement yet as to when to expect the actual KitKat updates for the first list and when they will release the next list of devices.
