BLU Products has unveiled their latest smartphone, the Life Pure. This is essentially the latest device in the Life Series and it is one that BLU describes as offering a “stunning design and premium build quality with flagship performance.” BLU Products teases the Life Pure by saying how it “focuses on “gorgeous design and beautiful software, appealing to users who wish to own a piece of modern art, without sacrificing their desire for the latest technology available in a smartphone.”

While the modern art description will likely come down to a personal opinion, we can take a look at the specs, which coincidentally, seem to be a step up from some of the other BLU devices. In this case we are looking at a handset with a 5-inch 1080p display and quad-core processor. Specifically, the display has a scratch-resistant panel, a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and PPI of 441. The processor clocks in as a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A7 MediaTek MT6589T.

Other specs here include a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera with BSI sensor and LED flash as well as a 5 megapixel front-facing camera, 2000 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Those considering the handset will also find WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and the usual array of sensors including an accelerometer, proximity and gyro. The BLU Life Pure will be running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean at launch.

The BLU Life Pure has 3G (HSPA+) and 2G connectivity in the form of; 3G (HSPA+ 42Mbps) 850/1900, 850/2100, 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. It will also be available in two colors — Matte Black and Ceramic White. Finally, this model will be coming available for those in the US and Latin America. BLU Products will have it priced at $349 and while there wasn’t a specific timeline for updates, they did mention how “future software updates will be available through BLU’s over-the-air Wireless Update Feature.”

  1. So, lets see. same price tag as the N5, but with 4.2 and no schedule for updating whatsoever, no 4g, and slightly worse specs all around than the N5. Uh.. Ill pass.
