BenQ has jumped back into the smartphone business with the release of two mid-range Android handsets. The models include the F3 and the A3 and while each have a unique look on the outside, the internals are just about the same. The specs for the F3 and A3 both begin with a 4.5-inch IPS (960 x 540) display and 4GB of internal storage.

Both models also have 1GB of RAM, a microSD memory card slot and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The processor is where the differences begin with the two handsets. Both handsets are clocking in at 1.2GHz, however the F3 has a MediaTek MT6589 and the A3 has a Snapdragon MSM8225Q.

Some other differences come in with the rear-facing camera and the battery. The camera situation has the F3 sporting a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera while the A3 has an 8 megapixel. Further details on the F3 rear-facing camera have it as an f/2.2 with HDR and zero shutter delay. And as for the battery, the F3 and A3 are sitting with 2100 mAh and 2000 mAh respectively.

That all being said, for now there hasn’t been anything mentioned for a North American or European launch. Or in other words, it looks like these two handsets are going to be available only in Taiwan. As for pricing, the F3 is NT$7,990 and the A3 is NT$5,990. And for those curious, that would be roughly $270 and $200 in terms of US dollars.
