Gartner: Android And iOS Dominate With Combined Share Of 62 Percent
A new report from research firm Gartner reveals that the top two platforms in the mobile market remain Android and iOS, which have now doubled to a combined market share of 62 percent. The report is based on worldwide sales figures for mobile devices to end-users for the second quarter of 2011. That total has reached 428.7 million units, a 16.5 percent increase from the same quarter last year.

The T-Mobile G2x being pulled from the carriers online store recently spawned rumors that quality issues were behind it. But according to T-Mobile, they temporarily pulled the phone due to inventory constraints. However, they did admit to a having some issues that they plan to fix with an upcoming update. Now a leaked internal document reveals that they're finally getting more serious about addressing them.

Perhaps the hottest phone on T-Mobile's lineup, the G2x, has mysteriously disappeared from the carrier's website. According to TMoNews, the phone may have been pulled for quality issues. A search for the device on T-Mobile.com currently only results in G2x accessories, but no sign of the device itself.

DROID Charge Heading To Verizon Tomorrow
The Samsung DROID Charge is slated as the second smartphone ever to be running on Verizon's 4G LTE network, but up until now its release date has remained a mystery. Delays of its launch may have been caused by the LTE outage a few weeks ago, but even after the network came back on, there was no news on a firm date. But fortunately today it's just been confirmed by Verizon that the DROID charge will finally be launching tomorrow.

At Google I/O earlier this week, every attendee got to walk away with a limited edition Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. We reviewed the slate and compared it with the Motorola XOOM and the LG G-Slate and we even did an epic unboxing battle to which you can vote a winner for a chance to win the limited edition tablet. And what's even better? Now we get word that the ultra thin and lightweight tablet may be heading to Verizon as its first carrier and sport speedy 4G LTE.
