Nexus One tipped for Vodafone UK in April

The Daily Telegraph has detailed that the Nexus One will be coming to Vodafone UK, via Google.com/phone only, and confirms what the company announced before.  Actual sources aren’t listed but the news site says that those close to both companies have confirmed a very likely April launch.

Android users are largely male, statistics show 73%

Statistics show that 73% of Android users are male, whereas on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and webOS platforms, there is far less skew on either side.  The conclusions come from analytics firm Admob’s January report, which also includes several other studies .

Google originally planned Nexus One to be made by Sony Ericsson

So  Sony Ericsson’s Chief Executive Bert Norberg has told a Swedish publication that Google wanted Sony Ericsson to build the Android-running, Snapdragon-powered smartphone, the vaunted Nexus One.  As CEO Norberg revealed,  Sony Ericsson had actually turned down the request, claiming that they were only loyal to Sony Ericsson (themselves) and to stick with making their own in-house hardware.

Android 2.1 update finally comes to Droid Eris?

While we haven’t been able to fully confirm yet, evidence of the Droid Eris finally receiving an update (OTA, and Android 2.1 for that matter) has surfaced moments ago, and backed up by more than a few web denizens.

Rumored HTC Scorpion will run Android 2.2 on 1.5GHz Snapdragon CPU?

Google’s Nexus One may be the speed king of the smartphone hill at the moment, but alleged leaks are showing that a newer and even more powerful HTC smartphone may already be in the works.  The rumored HTC Scorpion (may be codenamed “Olympian”), is supposedly equipped with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor running Android 2.2.
