That may have taken longer than most have wanted but the myTouch 3G Slide has been rooted. Eugene373, a modder that has done some great work with the Cliq and Behold 2, has just rooted the Slide. You can find the instructions after the break.
Since Android was introduced, there have been many complaints about its lack of .avi and .divx playback. Since then there has been a few phones with .divx capabilities but there still was no player for the rest of us. The RockPlayerBase allows any Android 2.1 handset to playback XviD, DivX, Mkv and even RMVB files. .
Projector phones were supposed to be “the next big thing” in the evolution of cell phones. So far, that hasn’t been the case, there was a non-Android based projector phone released here in the
US recently. Needless to say it didn’t do so well as far as sales goes. I personally haven’t seen one in the wild since it was released. Can Samsung break this technology into the mainstream with the Galaxy Beam?
Although we’ve heard that the Galaxy S was headed to every major carrier in the US, it seems T-Mobile might be the first out the gate with their version. It has just passed through the FCC and it could (highly unlikely) make it way to Magenta in time for the free phone promotion this Saturday.
Well, it’s safe to say that the cat is out of the bag. And it brought a few other kitties with it. Not only will the Galaxy S Pro release on Sprint soon, the Galaxy S be joining it. The tipster didn’t mention if the Galaxy S was a 4G phone as well but I suspect that it is. Oh and here are a few more pictures of the Pro after the break.
Usually we would call something like this a rumor but we now have cold hard evidence of its existence. I checked my mailbox and to my delight I was treated with the first real pictures of the Galaxy S Pro. As you can see from the picture, it’s the Galaxy S with a full QWERTY keyboard. There’s also a front facing camera and a few other surprises.
More news of the latest member of Samsung’s Galaxy family is starting to flow in. this time around a Vietnamese site by the name of Tinh Te, is claiming to have information on a few specs. If they are true this will be a pretty impressive tablet. Samsung has a history of being able to deliver hardware pretty quick so the wait for this slate may not be as long as most.
Yes, it’s that time of day. Only time will tell if this does make it onto the market. This is a 5-inch Android tablet by Acorp. The representative did say it would be available next month. It does look pretty good though and it should be affordable.
Not to be outdone by other smart phones that will be introduced into the market, the Galaxy S is capable of 720p video recording as well. This sample looks awesome, you can’t even tell this video is from a cell phone. This is just another awesome feature of the Galaxy s being displayed.
Another market alternative has entered the Android arena. It is called AndSpot, its goal is to provide an alternative to the Android Market all while improving on some of the things the android market is lacking. If you don’t like or find that the Android Market is hard to navigate, this could be the solution you was looking for.
