AT&T to offer LG G Watch R when it arrives in the US

We recently wrote about LG finally rolling out the round-face LG G Watch R wearable globally starting in Europe in November (which is just a few days away). The assumption is that the US market will be next in line, and AT&T has already closed the deal that they would be one of the first to offer the LG G Watch R when it finally arrives on North American shores.

The relative success of Motorola’s Moto 360 – the first Android Wear device to stick with the classic round design – has obviously forced LG and Samsung to come up with their own round designs so quickly after the Moto 360 conquered IFA 2014 in Berlin. LG will be quick to tell you though that they have the first “full circle” OLED display – a swipe at the Moto 360’s “flat tire” display.

The LG G Watch R is IP67 water resistant – which means the device can survive being submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. LG is also hyping its use of a low-power P-OLED (plastic OLED) display that allows the device to consume less power from its 410mAh battery. The software is compatible for pairing with Android devices having version 4.3 or better.

The wearable device already appears at the AT&T website, so it’s only a matter of time before it does become available. Would you like this device over the Moto 360? Tell us about it in the comments section.
