AT&T has confirmed some of the still missing details for the upcoming Moto X smartphone launch. Simply put, the carrier has announced the release date and pricing. So without any further adieu, the Moto X will be available with AT&T beginning on August 23rd. They will have the handset available in the 16GB and 32GB model and they will be available with monthly payments (under the Next program) or on a two-year agreement.

Those going the Next route can expect to pay $27 or $32 per month for the 16GB or 32GB model respectively. The two-year agreement price will be $199.99 for the 16GB model or $249.99 for the 32GB model. Similar to what we have recently seen from Motorola, those who pick up a Moto Maker customized Moto X will get a free Skip.

That August 23rd release date applies to the Moto Maker customized models as well as the regular black and white models. One catch with that date, AT&T will also be offering “a few lucky customers” the option to design and receive a Moto X a bit ahead of the public release. They have said this will begin on August 19th.

Otherwise, the Moto Maker customizations will include the ability pick the colors of the front and back as well as the accent colors for the power key, volume key and camera ring. You will also be able to load up some unique wallpapers, set a custom power-on message and add a name or short message on the back of the handset. And for those worried about storage, the Moto Maker process will allow users to pick the 16GB or 32GB model.

That all being said, the Moto X will bring features to include a 4.7-inch display and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, but there is more to this phone than just hardware. Some of the software perks include touchless control, quick capture and the Active Display. With that, those curious about the Moto X should make sure to read our earlier published review which talks about these features and more.
