The HTC Sensation has made a second trip through the FCC, this time bearing 3G and 4G band compatibility with AT&T’s network in the US. Filings for the smartphone were spotted in early May for the T-Mobile USA variant – which we reviewed last week – and now it looks like AT&T may be getting a model of its own.

This particular model has support for GSM 850/1900 and WCMDA bands V and II, making it potentially compatible with AT&T’s HSPA+ network (though not its new LTE network, of course). Otherwise we’re assuming it’s the same Sensation that we’ve seen before, so WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, a 4.3-inch qHD display, dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and unibody metal chassis.

There’s no telling whether AT&T will indeed launch the Sensation – or, if it does, whether it will be called that or something else – but given the phone is HTC’s flagship we wouldn’t be surprised if they did. T-Mobile USA sales of the Sensation 4G will begin June 12.

  1. Love love love the Sensation, but i am holding out not diving in head first mainly due to the meager amount of internal memory…just not enuf for such a monster device. I planned on getting the Sensation and the upcoming new Nexus phone so as to maybe retire my N1, but it seems at this point i will just w8 for the Nexus. I will like to see HTC upgrade some of the Specs of the Sensation…a device of similar design and built but packing a super mighty punch internally (smth like 16/32GB int memory, 1+Gb RAM, 12Mpx cam and 3Mpx ffc, 1800mAh batt, by any means get Samsung to sell u some SAmoled+ screens, maybe an Nvidia dual or quad core chip. Or they are saving such spec for the new Nexus). Honestly i did not like seeing the SGS2 beat the Sensation on some head to head videos…give credit where it is due to Samsung. Or maybe the dual core chips made by Nvidia are more powerful than those made by Qualcomm? HTC has to correct this pronta…bcz i consider them as the lead maker of Android phones…even if it means making some devices with Nvidia chips…that doesn’t mean they are not loyal to Qualcomm. With that said…i will get the current Sensation phone today if it had more INTERNAL STORAGE say abt 16Gb..the batt life is much improved from some of the unboxing i have seen.

  3. I really like this phone although I think HTC made a mistake by putting only 768mb of RAM in it too low Resolution Front Facing camera and not large enough capacity battery. This phone should ship with 1gb of RAM. The front facing camera should be a bare minimum of 1.3mp on a cutting edge phone like this.

Battery capacity is also a bit low considering the higher draw their LCD panel makes vs AMOLED +. For comparison the Galaxy S2 has a higher capacity battery, and uses the AMOLED + which draws less power vs the Sensation’s LCD display. Samsung is more aggresive on power management issues, it would be nice to see HTC step their game up in that department as well.

Sensation beats the Galaxy S2 on: Sturdier Construction, Higher Display resolution (not display contrast).
Galaxy beats the Sensation on: Display contrast, Better Front facing camera, more RAM, more powerful CPU, larger batter and lower power draw from display. Less flashy UI.
