There had been some rumors suggesting the Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom was heading to AT&T and as of this morning, the release has been made official. AT&T will be the first US carrier to launch the handset and they will have it available later this week, on November 8. While AT&T is launching the handset this week, Samsung originally announced it back in June. Basically, this is a variant of the Galaxy S 4 with a highlight being the camera.

In this case, that means a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 10x optical zoom, spin-to-focus manual control ring and just over two dozen smart modes. Specifically, the Galaxy S4 zoom has 25 Smart Modes and those include everything from Panorama to Sunset, Best Face and Drama. There is also a dedicated shutter button and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) as well as the ability to capture 1080p video in 30fps and 720p video in 60fps.

On the front there is a 1.9 megapixel camera. The handset also has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display. The display has a resolution of 960 x 540 and a PPI of 256. Remaining specs include a dual-core 1.5GHz processor with 1.5GB of RAM and the usual array of smartphone features including LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.

AT&T will have the Galaxy S4 zoom priced at $199.99 on a two-year agreement. In addition, those looking to take advantage of the Next option can expect to shell out $25 per month. Aside from simply launching the handset on the 8th, AT&T is offering the Galaxy S4 zoom with two limited time promotional offers. These offers are what we saw announced from AT&T last week and this news is basically adding the Galaxy S4 zoom into the mix. That said, the carrier has the free Galaxy Tab 3 promo and the $100 promo card both in effect.
