We recently learned that AT&T was going to begin rolling out the multi-window update for the Galaxy Note II as of today. And well, judging from some recent activity in a few user forums — it looks like that update is now available. Well, at least available for some users. As with any OTA update, it tends to roll out over time.

Those with an AT&T branded Galaxy Note II in their hand may want to either check for an update notification, or dive into the settings and check manually. The update measures in at 178.92MB in size and once installed, will have your handset running Android 4.1.2 with multi-window support.

This AT&T release follows the T-Mobile release which came back on December 19. Other carriers aside though, those rocking an AT&T Galaxy Note II will now be able to use the Multi-Window feature. This means you will be able to split the screen into two active windows. This was a feature that Samsung recently highlighted in the ‘Office Upgrade’ commercial.

Based on what we have seen, the update appears to be solid and (so far) not causing an issues for users. Otherwise, users are reporting that the process takes about 15 minutes in total with a few re-boots mixed in, you know, just to make you nervous. Finally and perhaps most important — the update process will run its course without any adjustments to your existing settings and data.

  1. It’s a great feature. I checked it out on my bro’s global version of Galaxy Note II, it has the feature out-of-the-box. T-Mobile and AT&T users will surely like it…
