Asus ZenWatch

Nothing much to say here but the ASUS ZenWatch just received a price cut on Google Store. From $199.99, it’s now down to $129.99. This smartwatch was announced at last year’s IFA and was soon made available before year 2014 ended. There’s a new ZenWatch recently unveiled by ASUS but the version on sale is the model that the company used to mock the Apple Watch. This discount is somehow expect since the ZenWatch 2 is coming very soon.

With the IFA 2015 opening in a couple of months, we can expect that more manufacturers will be releasing new models left and right. The Moto 360 2, Samsung Gear A, and the Casio smartwatch could be making the rounds at IFA this year. We still have no word on availability and pricing of the ZenWatch 2 but we’re hoping still below $200 or even cheaper.

To review, the ASUS ZenWatch features the following: Presentation Control, Remote Camera, Watch Unlock, Tap Tap, Find My Phone, and Cover to Mute. It comes with several sensors that track health and fitness statistics like heart rate, step counts, and relaxation levels. Other specs include a 1.63-inch 2.5D curved glass with AMOLED screen, 320 x 320 pixel resolution, 278ppi touch display, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB built-in storage, Bluetooth connectivity, and a genuine leather-stitched armband.

As with any price cut, we’re welcoming this ZenWatch discount as great news to those who’ve been wanting to get the watch and those who’ve only been waiting for the 2nd-gen version. The ZenWatch is the cheapest Android Wear smartwatch on Google Store right now. The Moto 360 is the next affordable model at $149 while the Sony SmartWatch 3 is listed with a $249.99 price tag and the LG Watch Urbane is still $349.99.
