ASUS has just hit the start button on another update for their latest slate. The Transformer Pad TF300 quad-core tablet is getting a quick improvement or two starting today. Earlier this month ASUS updated the tablet and released the source code for those interested, and now are pushing another quickie out for the new budget-friendly tablet.

In early May the update was available for the US, and many other regions but today this appears to be rolling out for the US model. Bumping the build version from to and bringing along a few small changes. Just like the Transformer Prime, the TF300 OTA is helping out the WiFi and camera as both of those versions have been changed. The TF300 doesn’t suffer the same WiFi issues as the Prime, but any improvements are more than welcome.

According to Droid-Life the update is rather small and no noticeable changes were made other than the very few mentioned above. If you’ve got one give it a try and let us know what has changed. Since this morning my new Transformer TF300 was acting up and as of right now it doesn’t work anymore? Did a factory reset and everything …nada …. back to Best Buy!

Mine did the same. I took it back and got a replacement with no questions asked. I’m not going to update it until the bugs are fixed.

I noticed the TF300 has 802.11n, but does not have dual band wifi, I test drove a 300 recently, and downloads from wifi were extremely slow, slower than an iPad 1 on 2.4 Gig or 5 Gig band

Hey my Asus Transformer pad TF300t dock just started smoking. I quickly pulled the tablet off and it seems ok. The stupid dock wasn’t plugged or anything, it just shorted out and filled the room with smoke. I bought a month ago from OfficeMax and they told me sorry I have to go to Asus in China for service…like hell!! What a bunch of Crap OfficeMax!!
