ASUS Transformer Pad 300 and 700 getting quick software updates

ASUS Transformer Pad 300 and 700 getting quick software updates

Today we are hearing multiple reports that the folks from ASUS are updating a few of their Transformer Pad tablets with a little software update. Earlier we mentioned the ASUS Padfone 2 received Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but for those already running Jelly Bean on their Transformer this update is rather minor. So far both the Transformer Pad TF300 and 700 Infinity have seen updates as of this afternoon.

Multiple sources have confirmed all three tablets mentioned above have received over the air updates starting this weekend as well as this morning on a larger scale. The Padfone update was a big one, but for those Transformer Pads you probably won’t notice any changes, as everything is under the hood.

Comments are stating the Transformer Pad Infinity and the 300 both received changes that mainly updated the kernel, as well as the WiFi build. While we haven’t heard anything major that kernel update could improve battery life, smooth out performance, as well as prepare the slates for a possible pending upgrade to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean — which would be amazing.

We’re not expecting ASUS to be ready with Android 4.2.1 just yet, but they’ve been one of the fastest to update their devices in the recent past so it certainly is possible. The kernel changes could be in preparation for an incoming update later this month. For those rocking the Transformer Pad 300 or Infinity 700 series feel free to check for the OTA and drop us a comment below should you notice any changes.

The new version of YouTube in this latest update does not seem to have full-screen support :( Don’t know why they dropped it.

There is a black line across my infinity after the software update. I’ve did factory reset but it still there.
