Gameloft has rolled out the latest update for Asphalt 8: Airborne. This update is already available by way of the Google Play Store and brings some new tracks, as well as a bit of teasing about some new cars. Gameloft is teasing this update with mention of how they are "celebrating the Year of the Horse by adding some horsepower to the game."
Sticking with the Year of the Horse connection -- this Asphalt 8: Airborne update has added six new tracks that allow the player to "discover the Great Wall of China." These new tracks include 30 brand-new career events and are spread across all 8 seasons. As for the new car teasing, that included mention about how "exciting new cars will be introduced over time."
Gameloft hasn't listed all the new cars that will be coming just yet, however there was mention of a 2014 McLaren P1, Ferrari Testarossa, Dodge Challenger and 2014 Ford F-150. Otherwise, details coming from the changelog mention how you can play the time-limited events to get access to some of these cars ahead of their release.
Other changes touched on the main page, background audio, multiplayer and the leaderboard. The changes to the main page are simple -- there is a new page and players will now have access to time-limited events, career, and multi-players options with one tap. Shifting to the music side and you can expect to hear new tracks from the Silversun Pickups, The Crystal method, Band of Skulls and Martin Garrix.
The new multiplayer matching system is described as being a setup where "skill counts more than ever." In this case it was said that highly rated players who choose to use low-level cars to race newbies will instead be pushed to race better cars. Lastly, the updated leaderboard will be more current and based on player activity. Or more specific, based on player inactivity. Gameloft has said inactive players will be removed from the leaderboard after two weeks.
